Got the Mezcal/Barzo bundle for my Salsa El Mariachi, and I think this is the best XC combination I've ever used. Durable, grippy, and lightweight. Actually, dumped my heavy tubeless Schwalbe setup, and went back to lightweight tubes. Super happy with the purchase!

Very fun very fast
Sidewall tear on first ride. Would not recommend and will not purchase again. Back to Maxxis we go.

I love these tires
Well I put it on 6-13 rd it 6-14 on one of my northeast New England and put hucknoris protection under the tire with 23lbs and I’m a 235lbs rider on my ibis Ripley carbon V4S with a Agarro on the rear and rd it through the toughness trails I know Wendell state forest and can’t be happier the held there ground I’m so happy wtith my Vittoria tires I’m will continue to support them by buying more when I need them!!!!
Popular combo for a good reason. Barzo side bite could use a little improvement but all in all a well rounded, confidence inspiring set up

Not quite as light and fast as my previous Rekon 2.25s front and back, but close. However, the improvement in front and rear traction is noticeable and confidence inspiring on our rocky, rooty single track here in the northeast US. Definite upgrade.

I wanted to exchange the size of one. They were were very accommodating accepting a return, including covering the shipping! But they would not accept an exchange.
I haven't mounted them yet, but I'm disappointed in their policy.
Noticeable difference in traction
Fast rolling and grippy.
Very light, fast rolling and grippy. Can't ask for more than that. It measures out to about a 2.25 instead of 2.35 though on a 30mm internal wheel.
29×2.35 mezcal at 35psi suffered a pinch flat during some mild pavement riding. Rode up a short staircase with the suspension unloaded and the mezcal pinched a bead and punctured the tread! Very disappointed with these tires. Casing is too thin and they want to sell you a $77 air liner to make up for the faulty casing.

Installed this with their airliner and love my ride now! Not sure if it’s the tire or the airliner combo, but it dampens the chatter in my front tire which allows for better handling on the front end.
Bought this as a rear tire for my 11 y/o son who is on the middle school MTB team, in addition to the Barzo on the front.
So far so good on the socal loose over hard pack. Only a couple of rides in, but when I ride behind him he has excellent grip on the climbs as far as I can tell. Much lighter than his Forekasters.
These are fast and have excellent traction. I find the XC version of this tire to be a lot more predictable and better handling than the XC Trail version. If you don’t have the risk of sharp rocks in your region the difference in handling is night and day.
