Bringing order to disorder in loose trail conditions

Mastering the loose and technical is the mission of Barzo XC Trail, keeping you on the right side of the ragged edge.

Fast-rolling alternating center knobs deliver quick acceleration and efficiency on coarse trails, while moto-style shoulder knobs dig in for confident cornering when the trail gets rough. Full siping and spacious knob placement add reliable traction and keep the tread clear, so grip stays strong even in changing conditions.

Vittoria’s 4Compound Formulation places four optimized rubber compounds exactly where they’re needed, creating the ideal mix of speed, control, and long-lasting durability.

The Trail casing completes the package with a tubeless-ready nylon construction, reinforced sidewalls, and an anti-puncture belt—light enough for long climbs, tough enough for aggressive descents.

Customers praised this XC tire for exceptional grip and cornering, with many running it paired with the Mezcal. Shoppers said it "rolls fast" with "grip beyond its looks" and performs well on technical terrain, roots, rocks, and mud. Some noted sizing inconsistencies, with one customer finding it narrower than expected. Installation difficulty and rim compatibility issues were mentioned.

Quick rolling tire for mixed conditions

Front tire for my wifes XC hardtail paired with a Barzo out back. This tire seems like a modern version of the Gen1 Forekaster that I've used in the past, but quicker and more modern compound/casing. Big fan of it for our trails in Southern and Central Oregon. She even ripped them down some blue runs last time out and they held well at an intermediate pace. I'll be getting the same set for my HT when it needs new tires.

Barzo/Mezcal combo

I wanted better grip for my XC bike and I’m absolutely loving the Barzo/Mezcal combo. Corner grip and braking greatly improved over what I was running prior.

Vittoria Barzo XC Trail Tire

I really like this tire. It feels like a perfect XC front tire. Rolls fast and has a surprising amount of grip. This has been a Go To tire for me for the past couple of years and I am really happy with it. Hopefully the new "Trail" version will be a little more puncture resistant than the "Race" version I used last year.

Amazing Tire that continues to Deliver!

The new 2.4 carries on the legacy. Tire is amazinly fast with grip beyond its looks. I have run the XC and Trail with no issues. Works perfect here in SoCal with loose over hard, techincal climbing, and winter mud.

Monster Gravel

Put the 2.4 Barzo XC Trail on the front of my monster gravel bike, Salsa Cutthroat and am loving it! Inspires confidence on rocky singletrack and floats across deep sand. Pulled a giant cactus thorn out of it on my second ride and the tubeless sealant did it's job and I continued on my merry way.

Grippy and Fun

Great tire with a ton of grip, not super fast but is really predictable and confident on all terrain.

great tire

Hardest tire I have ever installed but worth the outcome. Used as a 2.6 front tire and the grip and cornering is exceptional . Ordering another one in 27.5 for the front of my Pivot mach 6 ( Mexcal 2.4 rear)

Barzo F / Mezcal R Combo Trail 2.6 on 35mm ID rim

They are big, fast and really dampen ride chatter and impacts as part of the suspension when tubeless. Cornering and climbing contact patches are awesome once you dial in the psi and inspire confidence up and down. I ride in New England with roots, rocks, leaves and mud. Its closer to 2.7/2.8 on 35mm ID rims. I am a 255 lbs rider full gear on a XL Tallboy LT V1 FS running 21 PSI front and 25 PSI rear. I have the Vittoria XC liner on the rear. Local bike shop mechanic was helping with upgrades and will be buying same tires and liner himself next. Feels like cheating compared to previous non V 2.4 tires and 23 mm ID rims.

Good but size is off

Ordered 29x2.6, sidewall also indicated 29x2.6. These tires are slightly narrower than my 29x2.4 maxxis rekon’s and far more narrow than any other 2.6 I have including the previous model barzo in 27.5x2.6 (all on 30mm int rims). I love the tire, very disappointed with the width.

The Real Deal

The Barzo/Mezcal XC Trail combo running 22/22 psi provides a very stable ride in turns, roots, climbs as well as speed on straight a-ways. To the touch, the rubber feels softer, which translates to a comfortable ride with consistent performance. What a huge improvement. I couldn't be happier. I'm still experimenting with different tire pressures, but I feel like 20/21 psi is where I'll end up at, for the trail I primarily ride.

Excellent tores

This is my third or fourth set of Vittoria tires and I love them. I usually install a Barzo XC in the front and a Mezcal XC in the rear. Since I ride a hard tail SS, I decided to go with the Barzo XC front and rear this time. It's been a game changer so far! The rear doesn't spin out anymore when I'm standing and climbing.
I used to be a Maxxis tire fan but will continue buying Vittoria tires from now on!
