A Hero-maker for Mixed Conditions

Mezcal XC Trail thrives on variety. When the trail delivers an assorment of conditions, you can rely on this legend for quick acceleration and smooth handling across every section of the trail.

Its continuous center tread rolls fast and efficiently, while siped extensions add climbing grip and dependable braking on mixed terrain. Directional siping on the shoulder knobs—running parallel to the trail with varied widths and open edges—delivers precise, predictable cornering so you can carry speed through every turn.

Vittoria’s 4Compound Formulation places four optimized rubber compounds exactly where they’re needed, creating a perfect balance of speed, traction, and long-lasting durability.

The Trail casing ties it all together with a tubeless-ready nylon construction, reinforced sidewalls, and an anti-puncture belt—light enough for long rides, strong enough for the roughest lines.

Customers praised these XC trail tires for rolling fast, providing excellent grip, and feeling smooth on pavement. Many noted "the hype is real" with silky ride quality and low rolling resistance. Some concerns about increased weight in newer versions and sizing inconsistencies. Strong performance for XC setups.

Mezcal Trail tires

Loving the tires! They role fast hold tight in the corners! Roll smooth on pavement if needed. I did cut a hole in the sharp rocks of northwest Arkansas on Little Sugar trails, but put in some dynaplugs on the sidewall and she’s still rolling

Victoria Mezcal Trail

This is my favorite XC rear tire. It rolls really fast and has a surprisingly amount of grip as long as it doesn’t get to wet. I pair it with a Barzo up front and that is my favorite XC setup. I love that Vitoria switched to a 60tpi casing.

2.1 on a Trek Fuel

I like this tire very well. It provides good traction, trail feel and is more nimble than other tires I’ve ridden on this bike.

The hype is real.

I’ve been reading glowing reddit posts about these tires for a couple of years. I didn’t think they could live up to the hype, but after a few hundred miles I have to say that they do. Silky smooth and soft ride, quiet on asphalt, and grippy when needed. 27.5x2.4 Surly Bridge Club

Nothing beats the quality and feel of a Bittoria tore

I ride primarily on the road but when I go off-road I find the same amazing feel for my tires. Nor reason to look elsewhere.

Heavier

Great tread pattern, but unfortunately this version is heavier... It is also rated at 2.4, but the actual width on my rims is identical to the previous 2.35 version... both are 2.3 measured.

2026 29x2.6 got VERY heavy

I had the gen 3 of the Mezcal 29x2.6 and it was 860 grams. The 2026 Mezcal 29x2.6 weighs 1010 grams. Not excited about this noticeable weight increase. Vittoria needs to offer the 2.6 Mezcal (and 2.6 Peyote) in a Race casing. While you’re at it, offer the 2.6 Race casing with brown sidewalls!

Good grip and feeling.

Tire feels great and looks good on the bike. Rolling resistance seems low and can feel the difference if switching from a more heavier / knobby tire.
